Can I just say something? This is probably one of the best South Park episodes, EVER.
Just wanted to make that clear.
Also, I’ve been long gone from the fandom for almost 6 months now– and it feels good. I was forced to return briefly when I found out that Leaky had severed ties with Steve Vander Ark. How hardcore has this whole situation become?? I’d give anything to speak frankly with SVA right about now, since it’s fairly depressing that the majority of his audience has turned against him and it appears he’s staked a good deal of his future on this venture that he himself admitted would be illegal (from quotes dating back to 2005).
All in all, it’s still a hot mess.
However, after reading that article, I somehow found myself on Youtube, watching my videos from Phoenix Rising and wistfully looking back at pictures of days when I was depressed, living in Arkansas, and a few days away from “home” in New Orleans with a bunch of possibly nutty nerd-types were incredibly important for my well being.
Conclusion: I think I want to casually (and I stress, “casually”) associate with the fandom again, but without any real committments to anyone or anything, as I’ve been burned to a crisp in the recent past.
We’ll see how this goes.
